AlNiCo magnets are cast or sintered alloys of aluminum, nickel, and cobalt. These magnets have become less popular due to their high cost and inferior magnetic properties, except in high temperature applications.
- Chemical composition: Al-Ni-Co
- Very hard and brittle
- Poor resistance to demagnetisation
- Good resistance to corrosion
- Excellent temperature stability - 550°C
- Low performance magnet offering good cost to performance ratio in specific applications
